Christmas is coming! Beach days, waterhole swims, lazy walks in the park! Cat homestays booming! Article in December Bulletin on “Just Walking the Dog”.
OMG – only 22 days till Christmas and apart from continuing to buy Christmas decorations for the house – I have barely started my Christmas shopping. I’m aiming not to leave till the day before as I have done oh too many times in the past. Although Christmas Day is always frantically busy for us, it is amazing that after about 6.30pm when all animals are visited, cuddled, walked and fed, it is time for us to kick back with a champers or three and this year our son Ben is flying up from Melbourne plus we have two very close friends sharing the evening with us. Not to mention the homestay dogs and cats – who will forget the roast pork episode of last Christmas dinner – thanks all you four legged friends for eating 2 loins of pork when I wasn’t looking and thinking the pork was “resting” while I enjoyed a glass of champagne with guests! No way will this happen this year!
We have been taking the dogs to the beach very regularly over the last few weeks and as you will see from some of the photos – we all have a ball. Quite a few of the dogs have never been to the beach before and boy do they enjoy it! So I will definitely be continuing on with these visits, probably weekly or at least fortnightly. We also go to the waterholes and parks at Fig Tree Pocket, out to Bellbowrie, Chapel Hill and lots of fun places – please look and enjoy our photos.
Exciting news about my cat homestays! As I mentioned in my last blog, I started up cat homestays last month and it is going great guns. Cat visitors so far include Louie, Cazzy, Indie, Boris, Ari and several more booked in over the next few weeks. The setup downstairs is working brilliantly and Gumtree is thriving thanks to me buying up crates, cat stands and scratching posts, beds, toys etc. to furnish my rooms for them. With the dogs upstairs and out the back and the cats downstairs plus an outside area at the side of the house, the segregation is working perfectly with the dogs none the wiser to the cats also co-habitating!
In December’s issue of our local glossy magazine “The Bulletin” there is an article on our business with a couple of photos. We are so grateful of how well we have been received by our clients and the local community and referrals seem to almost outweigh new business by advertising! If anyone ever has any suggestions – I’d love to hear them. One of my clients suggested an aviary next ---- I don’t think so!! This is easier to do on a visiting basis!
Well, as we will be up to our elbows in it - I won’t probably post again until the New Year so Richard and I would like to wish everyone a very safe and happy Christmas and New Year. We absolutely love all our clients (and their owners) and thank you so much for sharing your lovely pets with us over the last year!! Take care driving everyone and try not to overindulge (like I always do)!! Lots and lots and lots of love, Rob and Richard. xxxxxx
